"From Another Side"

A new venture is a blog called "From Another Side", a companion to my Sideroom 7" Singles blog - featuring b-sides, album or 12" or cassette tracks, alternative versions, etc by the artists played on that blog.

With the idea mostly to play some b-sides ( or even the a-side in those times that I played the b-side to start with ) or 12''s by the artist, album tracks, cassette only tracks or demos -  ie to really dig around the rest of the collection and play stuff that doesn't regularly see the light of day - always from my point of view that music is meant to be heard ( and why leave it lying around my house doing nothing ? ).

As a starting point I began looking through for extra tracks connected the most recent posts on the 7" Blog.

To that end "From Another Side #1" features additional tracks by Tiny Town, Pel Mel, Four Gods, Frontier Scouts, Idiom Flesh, Dorian Gray, Young Docteurs, The Cry and even a bonus Gobs track.

Besides, B-sides Are Better episodes #1 - "B Sides that Start With B"

This show looks at B-sides of 12" & 7" singles, this first episode featuring song names that start with the letter B.

It was broadcast live on Spreaker on today & although I had set up a seperate "show" for this series for some as yet unknown reason Spreaker sent it out via my other "show" Everything Extra!, which was kind of annoying ( and threw me a bit ).

The show featured The Pastels, Holiday Crowd, Equal Local, The Windmills, Coach Station Reunion, Lush, The Triffids, The Gobs, Celestial, Fear Of Men, Manhattan Love Suicides, Jasmine Minks, Close Lobsters, Orange Juice, Rumeblefish, Even as We Speak among many others

Everything, Extra #1

Everything, Extra! is a new venture for me - an offshoot of the Everything, Alright! blog

In a nutshell it's a new live broadcast via Spreaker - which expands on the kind of music featured on the blog - featuring artists and releases more in depth and  more like a radio show with announcements and so on ( Aussie accent and all ).

You can either listen live as it goes to air or to a recorded version whenever you like, and it works on mobile devices as well as a PC, so all good.
